Pioneer Gallery

The Pioneer Gallery is one of two art galleries operated by Working Art Space Sheffield (WASS) in the famous northwest Tasmanian town of Sheffield. Sheffield is known as the Town of Murals and is also often referred to as "Tasmania's Outdoor Art Gallery". It is understandably both a magnet and a hub for local artists.

In the gallery you will find a wide variety of arts and crafts created by local artists. These works include paintings, photography, jewellery, textiles, sculptures and a variety of other hand-crafted works of art. Entry is free and the items on display are available for purchase.

Pick up a Mosaic Pathway brochure from the Information centre or the Pioneer Gallery and stroll along the pathway which crosses historic King George V park to the Albert Gallery (WASS’s other gallery). The mosaic pathway begins behind the main carpark in town.
