The Weindorfer Memorial Committee and the Wilmot community are privileged to be able to commemorate the memory of Gustav & Kate Weindorfer's lives and recognise the pioneers of Cradle Mountain/Lake St Clair National Park at this annual event. Gustav Weindorfer passed away on the 5th of May 1932. This year marks the 89th year of his passing, it is reputed to be the longest standing Memorial Service for an individual in Australia. Our aim is to provide a community commemoration that reflects the life and times of these pioneers. On the day, there will be historical talks, slideshows, artifacts, vintage cars & motorcycles, demonstration of shingle splitting and local artisan stalls.
