Henry Somerset Orchid Reserve

Henry Somerset Orchid Reserve hosts 45 orchid varieties, many of which are rare and endangered . Some of the orchids are not only endemic to the state of Tasmania, but to the local area. The species to be found range from the 60cm tall hyacinth orchid Dipodeum roseum to the tiny 2cm tall Winter Helmet orchids Corybas . The reserve features a 10-minute (return) flat and easy walk through the dry sclerophyll forest. The peak of the orchid flowering season is October to December. There are no visitor facilities at this reserve and entry is free.
